Clinical and Pathological Features of Iraqi Patients with Prostate Cancer
Background: The clinical pathological features were detected by measuring the prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) activity according to the stages and grades of prostate cancer. We also explored the relationship between the disease and age with family history among the patients. Methods: Data were collected from direct interview and from the patient’s records. Blood samples that collected before ...
متن کاملFatal intracranial arterial dissection: clinical pathological correlation.
The clinical pathological features of fatal arterial dissection confined to the intracranial vessels are described. Three patients with anterior circulation dissections presented with focal ischaemic neurological deficits and pathological examination of involved vessels revealed a dissection plane between internal elastic lamina and media accompanied by intravascular thrombosis. Three of four p...
متن کاملCardiac magnetic resonance imaging in giant cell myocarditis: intriguing associations with clinical and pathological features.
G iant cell myocarditis (GCM) is rare and often fatal. Proper diagnosis is crucial, because immunosuppressive therapy has been reported to increase the median transplant-free survival time from 3.0 to 12.3 months. 1 Although endomyocar-dial biopsy plays an essential role in early diagnosis, it may yield false-negative results. Imaging examinations including cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) may ...
متن کاملFatal mumps myocarditis.
The case of a 9 year old boy with acute renal failure and myocarditis as complications of mumps is reported. The cardiac rhythm and conduction disorders which appeared after admission were refractory to treatment and the outcome was fatal. On necropsy, minimal interstitial nephritis and myocarditis were seen, confirming the clinical diagnosis.
متن کاملPathological Substratum for a Case of Fulminant Myocarditis Treated with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation and Subsequent Heart Transplantation
Fulminant myocarditis has been defined as the clinical manifestation of cardiac inflammation with rapid-onset heart failure and cardiogenic shock. We report on the case of a 23-yr-old woman with pathology-proven fulminant lymphocytic myocarditis presenting shock with elevated cardiac troponin I and ST segments in V1-2, following sustained ventricular tachycardia and a complete atrioventricular ...
